On the other side of the Baltic Sea our Finnish portfolio Commu also got positive response and publicity from the dragons after they participated in the Finnish Dragon den television show.
Connected to the news above, the Commu app became the second most dowloaded app in Finland, beating heavy weighers such as Facebook and Instagram. Big congratz to the whole Commu team!
And by the way, VNTRS expansion to Finland was covered in the largest Finnish business newspaper.
Take aways from conferences:
Making valuable new connections. Through events like TechBBQ, OiW, The Drop and Impact Week, we made connections with hundreds of startups and dozens of investors from all over Europe.
Gaining industry insights. Attending events and conferences enables us to feel the local pulse of the different countries startup ecosystems. Never before has the startup landscape been this distributed and at the same time connected across the Nordic and Baltics.
Learning new things. In between meeting interesting startups, conferences are a great place to get the latest insights on our industry. It is safe to say that impact, data and AI was the hottest areas this year.
Being inspired. Quoting one of our colleagues "The passion and vision of entrepreneurs we met recharged me with enthusiasm. After a couple of tough quarters we are returning to more normal state and it is amazing to see all entrepreneurs out there. The future looks bright."

Lastly, we would like to take the opportunity to highlight one of our portfolio companies. Every month we will highlight one company so make sure to follow/sign up to learn about all of them.
